VerraGlo™ Peroxide Number Luminescence Sensor
The VerraGlo Peroxide Sensor utilizes novel molecular light-emitting diode (mLED) technology that can measuring the hydroperoxide contents in petrochemicals as peroxide number (mg/Kg). An alternate format of this test can be used to measure the Peroxide Value in edible oils (milliequivlants/Kg).
The novel VerraGlo Peroxide Sensor exhibits peroxidase-like activity, and the flow of electrons through the mLED sensor produces long-lasting chemically-stimulated luminescence intensities proportional to the peroxide levels in samples. Luminescence intensities are determined using a commercially available Charm Sciences Novalum II luminometer.
Advantage of the VerraGlo™ Peroxide Sensor over other Methods:
Can be conducted in the field with 10 drops of sample (ca. 600 uL) with results in about 5 min.
Does not use or generate toxic solvents that are expensive to purchase, must be used under a laboratory fume-hood, and that have to be disposed of as hazardous waste
The method requires no laboratory glassware, no solvents and no cleanup; the sample vial is disposable
Improved sensitivity, precision and readability in the low PN range
